CaterParrott Railnet

"Safety and Service Combined across Georgia"

tag_quote

cpr_logoCaterParrott Railnet (CPR) is a Georgia-based company created in 2005. It was founded by two business leaders, Jamie Cater and Chris Parrott. CPR is set apart from other rail carriers because of our "hands-on" approach to economic development and customer service. CPR takes pride in helping businesses do business. Our strength is economic development. Not only will we provide your company with excellent rail service, but can also facilitate new track construction or rehabilitation of an existing spur track. In addition, we work closely with Class I railroads to create the best route for your shipments at the lowest cost to you.

CaterParrott Railnet

Georgia shortline Named for its two founding partners, the CaterParrott Railnet, LLC operates five sections of shortline trackage as three operating divisons in middle and southern Georgia. The Valdosta Division in the south begins at a Norfolk Southern connection in Valdosta and runs north to Nashville then northeast to Willacoochee, 43 miles total. This line is a combination of former Georgia & Florida segments. The Madison Division in middle Georgia makes use of former Central of Georgia segments to connect Shady Dale with Madison, 22 miles, from a connection at Machen to the Norfolk Southern's branchline from Macon through Gray. A 12-mile spur from Machen northwest to Newborn is used for railcar storage. Finally, the Thomaston Division connects Barnesville and a Norfolk Southern connection with Thomaston to the southeast, 15 miles of former Central of Georgia branchline. The CPR company is privately held and also provides direct switching service to local industries, trans-loading services, railcar storage, and light railcar repair. In the 2021, CaterParrott launched a new tourist hauling operation called the Azalea Sprinter. Excursions travel the full length of Valdosta line, making use of CPR motive power and acquired passenger equipment.
