Southern #132 (above) was one of 14 EMD GP7s received from the Central of Georgia when the regional was merged into the Southern system in 1963. At first the units retained their CG numbers even after receiving Southern paint, but later the batch was renumbered 8216-8229. Three units were wrecked in service; the remaining 11 were all retired by 1981 and traded to EMD for credit on new units.

Southern #8296 and #8297 (above) were two of 11 EMD GP7s assigned to the Cincinnati, New Orleans & Texas Pacific Railway, a subsidiary of the Southern system. Originally numbered 6200-6244, the CNO&TP batch was renumbered 8289-8297. Three units were wrecked in service; the remaining units were all retired by 1981 and traded to EMD as credit toward new locomotives.

Southern #6263 and 6265 (above) were two of 11 EMD GP9s received from the Central of Georgia when the regional was merged into the Southern system in 1963. At first the units retained their CG numbers #160-170 even after receiving Southern paint, but later the batch was renumbered 6258-6268. All 11 units were retired by 1982 and sold for scrap.
