Patriot Rail’s mission is to acquire and operate short line and regional freight railroads in North America which will enable it to work with local rail management teams to provide customers with first class transportation solutions focused on safety, enhanced service and increased reliability. Patriot Rail currently owns and operates 13 short line freight railroads comprising approximately 500 total rail miles in 13 states.
Patriot Rail Company LLC is a holding company operating more than a dozen shortline railroads and a variety of railroad services located in 13 states around the country. The company is headquartered in Jacksonville, Florida. In addition to managing 13 shortline railroads, Patriot also offers railcar repair, railroad construction, railcar storage, transloading and warehousing, and contract railcar switching through a number of facilities. The company also owns and operates a scenic railroad, the Blue Ridge Scenic Railway in northern Georgia. In June 2012, Patriot Rail was acquired by SteelRiver Infrastructure Partners.
