Atlanta, Stone Mountain & Lithonia Railway

asml_state The Atlanta, Stone Mountain & Lithonia Railway began its operations in 1909, only serving briefly as a common carrier railroad. Most of its life the company operated in private service to switch rock quarries in DeKalb County, Georgia, primarily granite and gneiss quarries. The operation connected with the Georgia Railroad at Lithonia, running 4 miles to Pine Mountain. A portion of one of its lines serves as right-of-way for the current Stone Mountain Scenic Railroad.
