SAM Shortline Railroad

Thomas the Tank Engine

egyptian AM Shortline frequently hosts Day Out with Thomas events, featuring one of the full-size non-working replica Thomas the Tank Engines built by the Strasburg Rail Road and managed by Thomas Limited. In recent years, Thomas trains on the SAM Shortline depart the Veterans State Park depot and travel a short distance west, across the Lake Blackshear bridge, before reversing and returning to the depot. Several short trips are scheduled throughout the event day. Heart of Georgia locomotives are used to power the train.

The activities on site at Day Out With Thomas are for you and you children to enjoy for the duration of the event.
