he Railway Museum of Greater Cincinnati was founded in 1975 by local rail enthusiasts interested in purchasing private passenger cars to run on Amtrak trains. These cars remain the core of the museum's current collection, which over the years has expanded to include locomotives and rolling stock from the seven railroads that once served the Cincinnati region. The museum maintains a storage yard south of Covington, Kentucky, across the river from Cincinnati. The yard is what remains of the Louisville & Nashville's small Latonia yard, and the property is open to the public once a month. In addition to at least 8 passenger cars, the collection includes a 1951 Pennsylvania Railroad E8 passenger locomotive and a 1950 Pennsylvania SW1 yard switcher.
