america_logo2 egyptian In August 2026, the North Carolina Transportation Museum hosted a weekend-long America 250 Locomotive Celebration. Over 30 locomotives painted in Semiquincentennial or previous Bicentennial paint schemes were sent to Spencer for the event. Locomotives were displayed outside the museum's roundhouse, individually posed on the turntable for spectators, and participated in a daily parade around the campus. Union Pacific sent two units: UP #1616 "Abraham Lincoln" and UP #4547.
