egyptian outhern #X388 is displayed outdoors at the Franklin Junction Historic Railroad Park in Gretna, Virginia, north of Danville. The park is adjacent to the Norfolk Southern mainline between Greensboro, NC and Lynchburg. The car is a well-preserved example of road service bay windows wearing Southern's caboose red. However, the aluminum windows frames have been painted black and the drop steps gray. Otherwise, the car is in authentic dress.
