America 250!
In August 2026, the North Carolina Transportation Museum hosted a weekend-long America 250 Locomotive Celebration. Over 30 locomotives painted in Semiquincentennial or previous Bicentennial paint schemes were sent to Spencer for the event. Locomotives were displayed outside the museum's roundhouse, individually posed on the turntable for spectators, and participated in a daily parade around the campus. CSX sent two units: CSX #250 and CSX #2026, both General Electrics.
