Hammond Lumber Company

The Hammond Lumber Company was a lumber operation located just east of the Illinois Central Railroad mainline in Hammond, Louisiana. The operation was situated across the tracks and just north of the Illinois Central depot, now the Amtrak station. Several small locomotives served the mill site until after World War II. The company's railroad was known as the Hammond & Eastern Railroad.
